Dr. Alisha Dennis-Brinson, D.Min, MA, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS, CCTP
Alisha is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Addictions Counseling, Prevention, and Human Services at Ashland University and Co-Director of the Center for Addictions. In this role she developed courses for the newly established Associates degree and minor track program. Alisha has also worked to develop the center of addictions to offer free and low cost continuing education programming across the State of Ohio. She earned her Doctor of Ministry, her Masters in Clinical Counseling and also Theology all from Ashland University. Alisha is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor both with supervisor designation. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Alisha is a member of the Summit County Suicide Prevention Coalition, The Summit County Think Tank Coalition, The Weaver Board of Directors, and the Ashland Noon Lions. She has served in the mental health and substance abuse field for many years and has had experience in all aspects of services including administration, inpatient services, intensive outpatient, individual, family and group counseling, and prevention. She is an advocate for education and reducing stigma. Alisha is married and has 4 children and 2 dogs.
