Jim is a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor-Clinical Supervisor, through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
He has been working professionally in the field of substance use disorder/addiction treatment, prevention, intervention, and training services for over fifty years. He has been a member of OAADAC/NAADAC since November 2009. Jim is in long-term recovery from substance use disorder and recently celebrated his 43rd year of sobriety. Jim is a well-known and respected clinician and educator. In 2016 he was selected as Professional of the Year by NAADAC.
Jim is currently semi-retired having closed his clinical practice office over five years ago. However, he continues to offer professional development and community training along with facilitating weekly online Family Education and Support Group meetings for those concerned about a loved one’s alcohol or other drug or substance use.
Jim believes that the single greatest negative impact on the quality of life that affects every man, woman, and child in America can be found in the combined consequences related to the addictive use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and substances. He further believes through comprehensive education, prevention, treatment, and informed policies that this problem can be significantly reduced. He has dedicated his career to that belief.
